The reason you will want to engage the services of a life
coach is to accomplish your Coachable Goals. The reason people become
life coaches, pay the money and expend the effort to improve their coaching
skills through training and actual coaching experience, is to assist
their clients to achieve their Coachable Goals. I believe that the life
coaching process and profession was designed to assist people (clients)
to achieve their Coachable Goals. The profession has grown rapidly and
continues to flourish, because the true life coaching process has proven
to be very successful at assisting people (clients) to actually achieve
their Coachable Goals. Yet, what Coachable Goals really are remain a
mystery to many life coaches and to most people. If more people understood
the Coachable Goals they could actually achieve through life coaching,
they would be much more motivated to engage a life coach to do so.
A Coachable Goal is the future place you want to be that requires you
to grow and improve as a person to achieve it.
This appears to be a nebulous definition that may be somewhat difficult
to grasp at first. When we dig deeper to better understand what this
entails, you will discover the wonderful world that it opens up and
the extremely important and remarkable accomplishments it can lead to.
First it is a FUTURE PLACE YOU want to BE. A Coachable Goal is the situation
you want to enter, not the place you want to leave behind. You always
focus on where you want to go, not where you are leaving. You decide
where you want to go. You cannot be forced, sold, or tricked into deciding
to seek your Coachable Goals. You will undoubtedly make this decision
on your own, when you are good and ready. You control where you want
to go and when you want to start the process.
You will become a better all around person in order to reach the new
place of your Coachable Goals. The most important growth area you will
experience will be your greatly increased clear discovery and understanding
of the mystery of YOU. You will learn about what really makes you tick,
what your real inner motivations, passions, desires and priorities really
are. You will look into you to uncover your true beliefs and values,
which some people call spirituality (as opposed to organized religion).
You will also discover what you do not want or like to do. (We call
these, your self-imposed obstacles.) These inner ingredients can
be called the factors that make up who you really are and what you want
to do and become. You could say they represent the inventory of you.
It has been said that the greatest growth any person can ever experience
is the increased awareness of who they are. Think of the monumental
effort, money and time humans have spent over time seeking to unravel
the mystery of man. When the real mystery people have been seeking to
resolve has been themselves.
In essence, the future place you will want to be will be the one that
will allow you to prosper because you will enjoy doing what you love
to do, avoid what you dislike to do, and will allow you to be the person
you really are. You will thrive by being your true self.
The examples of Coachable Goals presented here might appear to be a
bit vague. Initially they normally will be. However, as you progress
through the life coaching process, especially during the initial discovery
phase, you will determine what your Coachable Goals really are and define
them in enough detail and accuracy to suit your own understanding. You
and your life coach will then know exactly what to shoot for. You will
ultimately decide when you have finally achieved your goals on your
terms. Then the job of your life coach to assist you to achieve your
completed goal is finished. You create your own Coachable Goals in detail,
and you decide when you have achieved them.
I have found that real life examples sometimes provide a clearer understanding
than definitions or explanations. So I am providing you with a number
of Coachable Goals that have actually been achieved (at least 96.5%
of the time) by over 700 TCC clients in the past three and a half years.
I am listing them in the order of popularity in descending order.
1.
Discover and obtain your "Ideal Income Position"
(That you will truly enjoy and will be well compensated for.)
Note; this is the most popular Coachable Goal as chosen by about 62%
of TCCs clients.
2. Convert
Your Motherhood into a new and enjoyable career
(This is a specific variation of Coachable Goal #1)
3. Become
a successful "First Time Manager"
4. Become
a more Productive and Successful Entrepreneur
(Successfully start your own business)
5. Discover
then achieve true Life Balance
6. Become
a more Productive and Successful Business Owner
7. Become
a more Productive and Successful Sales Person
(Generate more sales with less effort)
8. Convert
your ADD "Disorder" into the "Blessing" it truly
is
9. Become
a more Productive and Successful Real Estate Agent
10.
Become a more Productive Manager
11. Become
a more Productive and Successful Leader
12. Transition
into an enjoyable and prosperous retirement
13.
Lose weight
14. Discover
if becoming a life coach is right for you, then become a successful
one.
(This is a specific variation of Coachable Goal #1)
15. Become
a more productive and more successful life coach
There are other Coachable Goals that have also been accomplished by
TCC clients, but I believe the above examples will give you a clear
enough picture of what you can also achieve. You are not limited to
the above list.
We have found that the Coachable Goals achieved by TCC clients represent
major changes in their lives, and have generated considerable additional
rewards when achieved. If you look closely at the above list, you can
see why this would be true. In fact, achieving these Coachable Goals
can easily appear to be too good to be true, because of the powerful
changes that will occur and the rewards most people will almost certainly
receive upon accomplishing their Coachable Goals. Think about it. When
you consider that between 70% and 85% of most employees in corporate
America are not happy in their jobs, why wouldnt more people be
jumping at the chance to actually discover, then attain, their ideal
income position? Maybe, it is because they do not think it is possible,
especially when they are surrounded by so many people who are also unhappy
at their jobs. We have also seen a vast majority of TCC clients add
other Coachable Goals after they get into life coaching, when they realize
that they will actually achieve their first Coachable Goal. Achieving
multiple Coachable Goals becomes much easier after the initial discovery
phase of life coaching.
The life coaching process is one of the ten human improvement processes.
It focuses on assisting people to actually achieve their own Coachable
Goals. When you understand what Coachable Goals really are, you will
be in a much better position to decide if the life coaching process
is the human improvement process that is best for you.
We welcome your opinions and comments
